How to choose when you want to buy the box packaging machine

It is not always good to choose the expensive one. What suits you is the most important.

So when buying a box filling machine, what factors should be paid attention to?  The following will help you analyze the performance of the packing machine, and what kind of service the supplier provides is best for you.

01 Select packing machine according to product.

The packing machine you choose should match your product.  For example, if the product is free-flowing (granular or loose), you should choose a vertical type of box loader.  For products that can be loaded vertically and horizontally, it is best to choose horizontal equipment.  Most box loaders on the market are horizontal loaders, which are more flexible and less costly than vertical boxes.

02 Determine the maximum packing speed

The first thing to confirm is whether the packing work is done on the production line or offline.  For online speed, divide the maximum production speed of the product by the number of product packages per carton, and then consider overload capacity (the possibility of increasing production speed through new processes or technologies).  For offline speeds, determine daily weekly or monthly shipping quotas, and be sure to use real days per week or hours per day to figure out how many cartons can be loaded per minute.

03 Material selection

Do you use raw cardboard (new fiber, more expensive) or recycled (cheaper)?  Poor quality materials will definitely affect the quality of packing.  You also need to consider the cover plate and glue format design of the carton, which should be prepared in advance, rather than the equipment has been delivered to the site to solve this problem.

Take advantage of supplier’s experience and knowledge

Include your carton supplier on your project team.  You can benefit from bringing together material experts and equipment experts.  Sometimes minor changes in carton design, materials and coating can greatly improve the performance of the packing machine.  In some cases, you may be able to optimize your carton design and use thinner materials to save money if the equipment supplier can tailor the equipment.

Post service and training

The supplier shall continue to provide technical support after the machine is installed in the factory.  By knowing how many service technicians a supplier has, you can see how quickly they respond to service.  If you are in a different area from the supplier, make sure you are in his service area, okay?

How long will it take?

Is there a HelpDesk?

Is it possible to call for technical questions?

Or discuss the future performance of the device.  Generally speaking, after customers buy a new machine, they need to train operators, maintenance and electrical technology, so choose a supplier that can provide a full range of training services.

06 can be integrated with upstream and downstream equipment

This problem is often overlooked.  The packing machine is usually located in the middle of the production line. Make sure that the packing machine you buy connects and communicates with upstream and downstream equipment.  Because a production line also includes other kinds of machines, such as weighing and covering film machine, glue spraying machine, opening and sealing machine.  So when you buy a box loader, make sure your supplier knows how to integrate the production line.

07 Time of delivery

Today’s customers are demanding fast delivery and, more importantly, they are demanding that their suppliers deliver their machines within agreed deadlines.  You can request the supplier’s production plan to ensure that all production steps, including design, procurement, assembly, testing, wiring and programming processes, are completed.

08 Parts Replacement

How do you make this transition faster when you’re producing a different size package?  Are your parts color-coded and classified?  Are all parts of a size the same color?  Don’t forget to color-classify your parts.  You also need to think about how to store and position the parts so that they can be found quickly when you look for them.

09 Don’t forget spare parts

As soon as the situation allows, you should ask the supplier for a Critical Spare Parts List and recommended Spare Parts List.  Have these spare parts delivered with the machine so that if something goes wrong while the machine is in use, you can fix it quickly.  You need to check both lists to see what parts you have and what you can buy from local suppliers.
